Forgotten Purrs (Cat Rescue) is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to giving homeless, abandoned, and neglected street cats a second chance. Based in the Greater Houston area, we focus on the cats living outdoors that are too often overlooked — the sick, injured, feral, senior, and medically vulnerable cats that many others are unable to take on.
To rescue and rehabilitate cats who have been abandoned, neglected, ignored, and forgotten on the streets. To provide them care based on individual medical and/or behavioral needs and facilitate their adoption into forever homes or sanctuaries where they will be safe, loved, cared for, and protected. To help control and manage feral/community cat populations through public education and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
None of this would be possible without the support of our fosters, volunteers, veterinary partners, adopters, and donors. Together, we are creating a future where fewer cats suffer on the streets and more forgotten lives are given the chance to thrive.
We started Forgotten Purrs (Cat Rescue) after witnessing how many cats were suffering alone on the streets — injured, sick, or simply born into hardship with no one to care for them. The ones that needed the most help were often the ones with nowhere to go. We couldn't accept that, so we built a rescue dedicated to giving those cats a second chance.

Our vision is a community where no cat is forgotten — where every stray is met with compassion, every medical need is addressed, and every cat has the opportunity to live a safe, loved, and dignified life.
We specialize in street cats — including the complex medical cases many others turn away, often taking in cats that require extensive veterinary treatment before they can begin their journey toward recovery. We've had cats in our care with over $4,500 in veterinary costs, because we believe "too expensive" and "too extensive" shouldn't mean "not worth saving." For cats that cannot safely return outdoors or be adopted due to medical or behavioral needs, we provide long-term sanctuary where they can live comfortably and safely.
When you adopt from Forgotten Purrs (Cat Rescue), here's what we ask in return: provide proper food, fresh water, and a safe environment; provide routine and emergency veterinary care as needed; keep the cat as a household pet with no abuse, neglect, or abandonment; no declawing; and if you can no longer keep the cat, they come back to us — not to a shelter, not to the street.
